Russian Court Supports Longines
Russian Court Supports Longines in a Trial Related to Parallel Import
In a 14 November 2011 decision, the Arbitrazh Court of Saint Petersburg found the large Russian Internet watch store bestwatch.ru guilty of violating the exclusive trademark rights of Longines Watch Co. Francillon Ltd. in relation to the sale of parallel-imported goods. The court prohibited the defendant from selling such goods without Longines’ consent and ordered it to pay compensation to the trademark owner.
Swatch Group welcomes this court judgment. The sale of watches by unofficial distributors damages the trademark owner’s business reputation and may affect the interests of consumers.
It is Swatch Group's policy not to tolerate violations of its trademark rights and to fully protect them in courts.

Swatch Group
