Biel / Bienne, 11 July 2007 – «Tech-Airport» – a subsidiary of The Swatch Group Ltd. (Switzerland) which specializes in airport distribution – has this week taken over the five watch and jewelry boutiques at Nice-Côte d’Azur airport in France.

Tech-Airport already has 13 sales points at Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle airport and also won the call for bids for five new boutiques at Paris-Orly airport in May of this year.

With Tech-Airport thus having a new take-off point for sales, the company is now the leader in airport distribution for watch and jewelry in France.

Tech-Airport was created in 2004 as a multi-brand retail specialist for watches and jewelry (tax & duty free) at airports, with an initial six points of sale. The company has since grown solidly both in terms of turn-over and profit as well as external growth.

Tech Airport currently employs 130 people across its 19 points of sale, making it number one in this sector of the French market.

Swatch Group is the world's number one maker of finished watches. Group companies sell watches under eighteen different brands and the multibrand Tourbillon retail mark. Present in all segments of the retail watch market, the Group is also active in the manufacture and sale of jewelry, watch movements and components.
