Payroll Specialist

 

The Swatch Group is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our Human Resources team located at our corporate headquarters at Waterford at Blue Lagoon in Miami, FL. A payroll specialist is primarily responsible for processing payroll and maintaining the employee database regarding salary and pay. Other duties include managing the company budget and expense as well as cooperating with different departments to increase payroll service performance and improve uponthe payroll system.

Profile

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Process payroll bi-weekly and perform daily payroll department operations
  • Ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Assist with retroactive payment calculation and payroll adjustment calculations
  • Processing and compliance of all garnishment orders, W4 and state withholding
  • Process manual check and off-cycle payroll transactions
  • Processing of time and attendance, ensure hours are tracked and processed accurately
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Preform periodic internal audits to ensure accuracy of employee data and identify systematic issues
  • Assist HR and Department managers with all questions pertaining to employees master data including: time management, paid time off and benefits
  • Assist with post payroll reconciliation of employees PTO balances
  • Reconciliation and processing of GL files for accounting
  • Work closely with accounting team to identify variance between payroll account and GL files
  • Assist with all employee related questions and inquiries pertaining to payroll
  • Assignment of employee security profiles and processing of workflow request
  • Develop ad hoc payroll and operational reports as needed utilizing Business Intelligence
  • Review of all new hires entered into the system to ensure accuracy prior to processing payroll
  • Assist with the entering employee level data when needed
  • Filling and maintenance of all employment files
  • Assist with year-end payroll processing including W2 & 1095C Forms
  • Provide confidential administrative support to the HR department in areas related to general administration, reporting, payroll and compliance
  • Assist audits and special projects as needed

 

Professional requirements

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in payroll, HR compliance, administration and benefits
  • FPC or CPP designation preferred
  • Detail oriented, organized, able to prioritize
  • Advance knowledge of MS Excel required
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits and earnings (Gross to Net calculation)
  • Experience with Ultipro preferred
  • Ability to work in a team environment and able to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Experience with multi-state, high volume processing preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Benefits administration experience a plus
