Distribution and Sales Manager

Renata SA, a subsidiary of Swatch Group Ltd in Biel, was founded in 1952 as a manufacturer of components for mechanical watches. Within only a few years, the company became a leading manufacturer and supplier of coin cells for watches and many electronic product areas (medical technology, RFID, radio control, metering, and many more). In close cooperation with our customers, we develop and produce innovative, reasonably priced, environmentally friendly and high-quality solutions for wristwatches and industrial applications.

As a Distribution and Sales Manager with Swatch Group, U.S., the position will need experience in the development, establishment of a distribution network for electronic components. They will be responsible for understanding the needs on both sides. Plus, this person will need a knowledge of the CEM landscape and able to track new design until manufacturing. 



Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify potential distribution partner and integrate CI to their web side
  • Manage distributors on the sales side
  • Review and integrate EDI, online shopping on demand 
  • Find and support Exhibitions and Marketing activities on the OEM side
  • Review existing rep network. Establish plan to cover relevant territory with reps. / distribution or both
  • Coordinate Marketing activities with Distribution partners within budget
  • Review and improve , reporting for
    • Sampling of batteries
    • Leads with rep companies
    • QBR with rep companies
    • Commission for reps. Americas and offshore
    • Monitor quotation of the order processing team
  • Understands quality complaints between Customer, HQ Switzerland and suppliers
  • Trouble shooting support for designated distributor
  • Coordinate or fill in vendor forms  per customer request
  • Provide necessary support to OP staff
  • Assist in analysing sales and production forecast
  • Attend exhibition
  • Product EOL/PCN management
  • Coordinating PCN and price changes )
  • Analyze pricing from competition, market pricing
  • Train team and reps to focus on strategic business
  • Business development - new opportunities and new products
  • Expand our business to CEM in Mexico and Brazil

Professional requirements

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor Degree in Business or Engineering a similar field
  • 5-8 years in  Distribution and sales in a similar position is required
  • Sales Management in an international Enterprise and/or similar business (batteries/electronic components)
  • Marketing and e-commerce experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, & Word) & SAP
  • Familiar with import / export procedure
  • Good presentation and communication skill with customers, team and suppliers
  • Able to think, plan and implement strategically
  • Experience in the battery industry preferred
  • Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality
  • The ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff
  • Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities
  • Able to work well with minimal supervision; self-starter
  • Ability to deal with conflict and able to influence across functional lines
