Swatch Group: Fire at ETA in Grenchen put out

Biel / Bienne – Grenchen (Switzerland), 29 December 2013

Today Sunday at around 8:45 A.M. a fire broke out in the galvanic department of the main building of ETA Manufacture Horlogère in Grenchen. While the workshop has been entirely destroyed, nobody was harmed. There was no activity in the workshop at the moment of the incident. Thanks to the swift and efficient intervention of the ETA-internal fireworkers and the fireworkers of the town of Grenchen, the fire could not expand to the neighbouring workshops. The fire was under control at 09:30 A.M. and put out shortly after. 

The reasons of the incident are not yet known. The damages caused by the fire are considerable. It is nevertheless too early today to put a figure on the damage. As a measure of prevention and due to the heavy smoke the Police of Canton Solothurn have informed the population.

Swatch Group: Brand bei ETA Grenchen gelöscht

Heute Sonntagmorgen gegen 08:45 brach bei ETA Manufacture Horlogère in Grenchen in der Abteilung Galvanik im Werk 1 ein Brand aus. Das Atelier brannte vollständig aus. Die Abteilung war zu diesem Zeitpunkt nicht besetzt und Personen kamen dabei nicht zu Schaden. Die ETA Betriebsfeuerwehr sowie die Feuerwehr Grenchen konnten durch ihr schnelles und effizientes Eingreifen den Brand schnell unter Kontrolle bringen und so das Übergreifen des Feuers auf die umliegenden Abteilungen verhindern. Um 09:30 Uhr war der Brand bereits unter Kontrolle und kurze Zeit später gelöscht. 
Die Ursachen sind vorerst noch nicht bekannt. Die Schäden sind bedeutend, jedoch zurzeit noch nicht bezifferbar. Aufgrund der starken Rauchentwicklung hat die Kantonspolizei Solothurn die Bevölkerung vorsichtshalber informiert.

Swatch Group: Incendie chez ETA Grenchen éteint

Ce dimanche matin vers 8h45, un incendie a ravagé l’atelier de galvano du bâtiment 1 de ETA Manufacture Horlogère à Grenchen. Personne n’a été blessé bien que l’atelier ait été entièrement détruit. Il n’y avait aucune activité dans l’atelier au moment de l’incident. Grâce à la réaction rapide et efficace des sapeurs-pompiers internes de ETA et des pompiers de Grenchen, la propagation du feu sur les ateliers avoisinants a pu être évitée. Le feu a été sous contrôle à 9h30 et a pu être éteint peu après.
Les causes de l’incendie ne sont pas encore connues. Les dégâts causés sont considérables. Il est toutefois encore trop tôt à l’heure actuelle pour juger de l’ampleur des dommages. Comme mesure préventive et au vu de la fumée intense provoquée par l’incendie, la Police cantonale du Canton de Soleure en a informé la population.
