Job description

Currently seeking an organized and motivated Events & PR Specialist to be responsible for day-to-day media relations activities for the Swatch Brand.

The Events & PR Specialist will work closely with marketing team and our global Swatch Brand offices under the guidance of the Marketing Director & Corporate Communications.


The candidate must have strong writing and communication skills, including writing and pitching; must have the ability to work closely with and to maintain media contacts and agencies, must have creative problem solving abilities; strong understanding of new PR tools, especially in the digital and social media realm. Must be detail oriented and have the ability to proactively follow up on all projects and see them through to completion.

This is a fast paced environment and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines is essential.

Position reports to Swatch Marketing Director.

Profile

Profile

  • Manage PR & Events SWATCH daily activities including press pitching and placements, campaign strategies, events, and press samples management
  • Coordinate PR guests and activities during national and international events
  • Constant relationship building with editors and influencers under Marketing Director supervision
  • Assist in the pitching creation process, coming up with ideas and able to react quickly and under pressure to resolve issues
  • Create, lead events for Local US Events as well as assisting Global Events based in the US
  • Handle photoshoots with SWATCH Ambassador’s and friends of the brand, and the liaison with their teams (agent, PR, glam…)
  • Create concept of influencer activations
  • Recruit and pitch new Content Creators for Brand loyalty development
  • Review competitor’s activations and ROI for comparison analysis
  • Gift handling & shipping
  • Manage calendar of key dates (birthdays, anniversaries, important launches of friends of the brand & ambassadors)
  • Review and organize all assets sent by SWATCH HQ
  • Assist with administrative activities of public relations

Support all daily Press Office tasks

  • Maintain master editorial tracking document, including all press requests, pitching, anticipated editorial, secured editorial and missed opportunities, working, and monitoring closely with PR HQ team
  • Maintain and save well-organized database of HQ assets, press texts and brand communication tools across all categories including but not limited to press kits, images, preview boxes, information notes, etc.
  • Update, and maintain press, e-influencer, and industry contacts database, ensuring accurate records for internal reporting tools and gifting
  • Daily liaison with media, to address media inquiries and requests
  • Invoices management with review and payment
  • Assist on Monthly PR budget with Director
  • Create post-activation report for PR campaigns

SWATCH HQ Support

  • Define needs based on SWATCH HQ requests
  • Assist HQ with photoshoots/video requests in the US
  • Create monthly coverage placement report for HQ and deliver on time

Professional requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Communications, Marketing or related field preferred

 

Required Experience

  • 2 – 3 years’ experience in a similar position
  • 2 – 3 years’ experience in an office work environment
  • Desired experience in US market

Technical Skills/Abilities

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint,
  • Experience using Experience utilizing media databases (Muck Rack, Cision, etc.)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. French is a plus
