For our IaaS & DC team, we are looking for a motivated
Manager IaaS & Datacenter (Data & Virtualization)
to lead the engineering team responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Swatch Group’s global infrastructure services.
This includes virtualization platforms, enterprise storage systems, backup and recovery solutions, and monitoring frameworks and log management systems across data centers and cloud environments.
The role ensures the delivery of resilient, scalable, and secure infrastructure services that support business-critical applications and data. The manager drives innovation, aligns technical strategies with business objectives, and fosters collaboration with other infrastructure and operations leaders to ensure seamless integration and operational excellence.
Job Description
- Lead a team of 5 service managers, each responsible for a core infrastructure domain
- Oversee service lifecycle: strategy, architecture, innovation, and project execution
- Collaborate closely with the transverse operations team to ensure operational readiness, skill alignment, and process maturity
- Facilitate delegation and synchronization between engineering and operations
- Actively participate in technical projects
- Support and coach team members in the procurement process, including terms and conditions definition and first level negotiation, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational objectives
- Leading, conducting human resources workforces (hiring, training, absences, overtime, evaluation, career planning…), with the support of the HR
- Ensuring the availability as specified in the Service Level Declaration (SLD).
- Leading the handover of procedures to the team
- Contribute to the department’s service strategy and roadmap in coordination with the Senior Manager IaaS & Datacenter
- Manage external partners and suppliers involved in infrastructure projects and services
- Participate in the Change Advisory Board (CAB)
- Act as Engineer On Call or Manager on Duty when required
- Assure team maintains and monitors all related systems and services
- Assure proper problem analysis and troubleshooting are made according to the group needs
- Prevent incidents from happening and minimize the impact of unexpected incidents
- Assure that the Team manage correctly their respective services
- Lead escalations and coordinate taskforces for critical incidents, ensuring rapid response and cross-team collaboration
Your Profile
- Swiss federal diploma in IT or equivalent
- Experience in leading an IT team
- Hands-on experience in architecture, service design, and technical project leadership
- Proven leadership and people management skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Analytical mindset with structured problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to manage or coordinate infrastructure projects, including planning, execution, and reporting
- Collaborative spirit with cross-functional teams
Professional Requirements
- Deep knowledge of enterprise infrastructure services:
- Virtualization (VMware, Nutanix AHV)
- Storage (SAN/NAS, Netapp, Dell Datadomain)
- Backup & Recovery (Commvault, Veeam is a plus)
- Converged Infrastructure (Nutanix)
- Monitoring & Observability (MS SCOM)
- SIEM & Log Management (Splunk)
- ITIL Foundation experience and service management best practices
- Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture and integration
Languages
- You are able to communicate in English and French (spoken and written)
- German is a plus
