As part of the Swatch Group, EM Microelectronic’s Watch Circuits Business Unit plays a central role in designing ultra-low power integrated circuits that power the Group’s iconic timepieces. We are seeking a visionary Business Unit Leader to drive the strategic direction, innovation, and operational success of this BU. The role combines leadership in watch-specific IC development with the ambition to extend EM’s core technologies into adjacent and emerging markets such as wearables, healthcare, robotics and consumer electronics.
Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Ownership: Define and execute the BU strategy with a focus on long-term profitability, innovation, and alignment with Swatch Group’s watchmaking roadmap.
- Technology Leadership: Guide the development of ultra-low power ICs for timekeeping, sensor integration, power management, and connectivity tailored to watch applications.
- Cross-Division Collaboration: Work closely with internal Swatch Group stakeholders to ensure technology alignment and seamless integration into watch products.
- Emerging Market Expansion: Identify and pursue opportunities to apply watch circuit technologies in adjacent domains beyond traditional watchmaking.
- Engineering Management: Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Innovation Pipeline: Drive new product introductions and internal go-to-market strategies, ensuring EM’s leadership in ultra-low power design.
- Ecosystem Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external partners to co-develop solutions that leverage EM’s core competencies.

- Deep understanding of ultra-low power IC design and its application in watchmaking and emerging markets.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on execution skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management across technical and executive levels.
- Open-minded, inspiring, and effective in managing cross-functional and remote teams.
- Fluent in English; French or German is a plus.
- Willingness to relocate to Neuchâtel, Switzerland is essential.
