In order to reinforce the archive team at its Headquarters in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, SWATCH is currently searching for an

ARCHIVIST 70% (temporary contract from 01.03.26 until 28.02.27)

Job description

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Manage all tasks related to historical archive and business records, including digital records
  • Follow up the archiving of all company contracts in collaboration with departments
  • Deputy of the manager; support in various projects and tasks
  • Supervise preparation and deliveries of archives from the departments
  • Sort and evaluate archived material, in collaboration with the manager
  • Describe content of archived material and fill databases
  • Reconditionate historical archive in adapted boxes
  • Manage physical storages of the archived material
  • Digitize selected material

Profile

Profile:

  • Bachelor’s in information science or equal certificate.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a public or private archive organization.

We accept also junior profile, like trainee. If you are a trainee, please make sure to tell us your availability.

Professional requirements

To be successful in this position, you must have knowledge of and ability to work with various databases, knowledge of the various standard archiving formats and Microsoft Office knowledges. Furthermore, you are flexible, autonomous, have a sense of initiative, are communicative and able to undertake physical tasks (repetitive and heavy loads).

Languages

In addition, you possess excellent communications skills and are fluent in English, German and/or French.
