The Role
- Manage a national portfolio of retail property leases
- Develop and maintain an exceptional network of industry contacts aligned with each brand’s retail strategy
- Monitor existing leases, critical dates and property-related risks and opportunities
- Propose initiatives or actions to ensure that rent/sales ratio is maintained at acceptable levels
- Support renovations, relocations and closures from a property and leasing perspective
- Secure retail locations and negotiate leases within required strategic, commercial and legal parameters
- Support the delivery of new projects, including approvals, lease execution and site handovers
- Contribute to retail expansion initiatives including Auckland
- Routine market visits to discover retail opportunities and remain abreast of market insights
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience managing a property portfolio and facilities team for a multinational company, or as a leasing manager for a national retailer or shopping centre
- Strong knowledge of Australia’s premium and luxury retail precincts, including high streets and shopping centres
- Good knowledge of Auckland’s premium and luxury retail precincts, including high streets and shopping centres
- Established network and strong relationships with landlords and leasing managers preferred
- Excellent negotiation, communication and customer service skills
- Proactive and innovative, with the ability to develop new ideas and solutions
- Ability to prioritise tasks and perform effectively under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of computer literacy
- Sound business acumen, organisational and analytical skills
- Understanding of the full retail property lifecycle, including openings, refurbishments, operations and closures
