The foundation stone of our brand was laid at the end of the 19th century by the renowned clock wholesaler Johannes Dürrstein. Being both an expert in the international art of watchmaking and a successful businessman, he spotted a gap in the market for Glashütte-quality timepieces that were premium yet affordable. It was with this vision in mind that he established the “Glashütter Uhrenfabrik Union” in 1893 – a vision that we continue to deliver with passion and dedication to this day.
